Our Mission and Values
At Support for Families (S4F), our mission is to empower individuals and families affected by substance use, trauma, poverty, and adversity to lead healthier, more connected lives.

We work to:
-
Reduce isolation, stigma, and hardship
-
Strengthen understanding, wellbeing, and resilience within our community
-
Influence local and national responses to the challenges families face

We do this through compassionate, trauma-informed support, tailored services, wellbeing opportunities, and meaningful collaboration across Stirling and beyond.
Our Values
Compassion and Respect
We welcome every person with empathy, kindness, and dignity. We recognise the courage it takes to seek help and honour each person's story.
Trauma-Informed Practice
Everything we do is built on a trauma-informed approach. We prioritise safety, trust, choice, collaboration, and empowerment in every relationship.
Uniqueness and Diversity
Every family is different. We tailor our support to meet the unique needs of each individual and family member.
Challenging Stigma
We work to break down stigma and discrimination—especially around substance use, poverty, and childhood trauma—creating a safe space for healing and growth.
Wellbeing and Recovery
We believe that everyone deserves the chance to thrive. Through creative activities, counselling, peer support, and self-care opportunities, we support emotional and physical well-being.
Community Empowerment
We believe in the power of community. By building confidence, skills, and knowledge, we support local people to support each other.
Quality and Integrity
Our team is experienced, skilled, and deeply committed to making a difference. We are proud to deliver services that are professional, ethical, and person-centred.
Advocacy and Influence
We raise awareness of the real issues families face—including poverty, trauma, and addiction - and work to shape better, more compassionate responses at both local and national levels.
